Originally, this scene was first in the chapter, and that big chunk of cave wall with lizards was hiding Elan, who’d witnessed everything that just went down. Then at the end he ran off in a panic because the Captain was in trouble, and wound up finding Elka, saving her, etc.
But then I decided I wanted the Elka scene first, and had to go back and remove Elan! So I added some lizards there so the cave wall wasn’t quite so boring :3 They are but prop lizards!
This actually satisfies me because that panel was bugging the hell outta me. I even squinted at it for a moment to see if I could find Elan in there somewhere because it seemed like he should be :P
