For as long as I’ve been making Boxer Hockey, people have been begging me to make stuffed frogs. Well that stuff’s expensive, maaaan. Luckily, TopatoCo has stepped in and offered to handle the production, stocking, and shipping of a thousand of the little buggers, but we gotta pay for ‘em first!

I was digging in some folders and found an old picture of one of my first artist alley tables. I thought it would be interesting to share it alongside a picture of my most recent dealer booth.

The first picture is from AWA 2008, and the second one is Nekocon 2012. It just goes to show that it may take time, but you can really grow if you keep at it :)

Do you have any advice for someone who's trying to get their t-shirt designs out there, or advice for good ways to apply designs to other things too, like stationary and decor? I'm really shy so I find advertising really scary, is there a good way to go about it? Sorry for all the questions!

Well, I cover a lot of “getting out there” tips in my freelancing guide, so give that a read.

As for applying designs to different products, I recommend studying existing ones. You can often see what works and what doesn’t just by looking at what’s already been done.

I’m not very good at advertising either, so I can’t help you there. Sorry!

I’m sorry, no :( We can’t make it to ACEN this year. The only conventions I currently have planned are the My Little Pony Fair, Otakon, AWA and Nekocon.

Have you heard of Little Witch Academia? It's a new adorable and fun to watch OAV (so sad it's only an OAV) and I really think you'd enjoy it! The art style is really cute.

Yes, I have! I absolutely loved it! It was a beautifully animated OAV with a really cute and fun story. I hope to see a series born from it someday soon.

I don’t really have much time for making tutorials these days :( I’m sorry.

SAI is a lot easier to use than Photoshop though, so you can pretty much figure it out by spending a few hours playing with all the settings.

Posey, the predecessor to Fluttershy. Collectors may recognize her pose from the original toy, as I opted to use it for this picture since it’s so iconic.

I also learned that a posey (or posy) is not a specific type of flower, but rather a term for a small bunch of flowers. Happy spring, everybody!
